About the position:

The Web Developer (Front-end) role involves developing, testing, and maintaining web applications using Angular and other front-end frameworks. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features, ensuring optimal performance and scalability. The position also focuses on creating responsive, high-quality user experiences across various devices and screen sizes.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain responsive websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies.
• Work closely with designers, other developers, and project managers to translate UI/UX design wireframes into code and ensure that web pages are both functional and visually appealing.
• Assist in integrating front-end components with server-side logic using back-end programming languages and frameworks, such as PHP, Python, or Node.js.
• Participate in testing and debugging web applications to ensure cross-browser compatibility and optimal performance.
• Use version control systems, such as Git, to collaborate effectively with the development team and manage code versions.
• Help optimize websites for speed, performance, and scalability, following best practices for SEO and web standards.
• Stay up-to-date with new technologies, trends, and best practices in web development, and apply them to enhance web projects.
Maintain detailed documentation for web development processes, workflows, and code for easy reference and knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience: Overall 2-4 years of experience with 2 years of proven experience in web development, including front-end and back-end development.

• Technical Skills:
• Front-End: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with experience in frameworks/libraries such as Bootstrap, React, or Angular.
• Back-End: Basic understanding of server-side programming languages like PHP, Python, or Node.js.
• Database Management: Familiarity with SQL or NoSQL databases for storing and retrieving data.
• Version Control: Experience with version control tools like Git for collaborative development.
• Responsive Design: Ability to create responsive and adaptive designs for different devices and screen sizes.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for debugging and enhancing web applications.
• Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills to work closely with stakeholders and team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Certifications: Certifications in web development or related technologies (e.g., Certified JavaScript Developer) are a plus.
• Experience with CMS: Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) such as WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla.
• Additional Frameworks: Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js or backend frameworks like Django or Express.
• Familiarity with Agile Development: Experience working in an Agile or Scrum development environment.
Graphic Design Tools: Basic understanding of graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop or Figma for converting designs to HTML.

Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm.
