Job Description

We have the perfect opportunity for an aspiring finance professional to develop your skills and experiences. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment where the successful candidate must have the right attitude, be prepared to roll their sleeves up and be an excellent problem solver. This person will have a broad range of responsibilities across all aspects of corporate accounting and accounting operations, financial reporting, internal control and taxation activities for the India business. We are looking for someone who doesn't need any motivation to develop, a self-starter, who is hungry to continually improve accounting and finance processes. You will be working closely with various internal and external business partners like our Business Planning team, the GBS team, the external auditors and the government authorities.

 

In brief, you will be responsible for the following accounting responsibilities for our global shared service center (GBS):

  • Ensure period end reporting correctly reflects BU results.
  • Review of business activities, calculation, set up and posting of accounting journals in accordance with journal policy and support for management reporting in the same.
  • Coach and motivate a team of accountants.
  • Prepare and review of Balance Sheet Account reconciliations and P&L analysis, financial health of books of accounts.
  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards including schedules and other reports.
  • Lead statutory audit, internal audit and other applicable audit activities for GBS for timely closure.
  • Support GBS team with queries relating to GBS India Center.
  • Participate in meetings to identify and implement process improvements and automation.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls, procedures and policy with India Taxation (both direct and indirect taxation) and other India specific regulatory compliances including FEMA, RBI etc.
  • Keeping track of the transactions and monitoring accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
  • Analyzing supplier aging reports to pay all invoices in a timely manner and works to build sustainable processes between Accounts Payable, the supplier and internal customers.
  • Resolving invoice discrepancies; maintaining records and vendor files.
  • Resolving vendor inquiries in a professional manner in a high-demanding environment.
  • Working with suppliers and partners to identify missing elements in the invoice (approval) process

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Relevant post qualification degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Preferably Chartered Accountant/CA-Inter
  • 6-9 years of relevant work experience in India accounting and taxation
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Detail-oriented and positive attitude with a high sense of urgency and exceptional organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills with the ability to operate with a team, customer service, and leadership mentality
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, and prioritize multiple projects, while operating in a fast-paced, complex global organization with shifting schedules and priorities
  • Solid working experience and knowledge of SAP, BI tool, Blackline and office software (Excel).
  • Exposure to Statutory compliance, Direct and Indirect taxation and India regulatory compliances including FEMA, RBI, Custom etc.
