About the Position

The College of Business, Government and Law is seeking a Research Officer in Criminology to play a key role in coordinating and supporting all stages of a high-impact research program investigating offender rehabilitation and strategies to reduce reoffending across NSW prisons.

As a Research Associate in Criminology, you will:

  • Coordinate and prepare research documentation, including ethics applications, reports, project communications, and travel itineraries.
  • Liaise with justice professionals, correctional agencies, and research collaborators to support timely and high-quality project outcomes.
  • Assist with literature reviews, data management, and the preparation of materials for publications and presentations.

About You:

You are a proactive, highly organised professional with experience in research support or administration, ideally with knowledge of the criminal justice system. You work confidently both independently and collaboratively, managing competing priorities to ensure the timely delivery of administrative and research tasks. You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including correctional agencies, senior officers, and academic colleagues.

You will bring:

  • Critical thinking, initiative, and the ability to offer practical ideas to improve processes and support project outcomes.
  • Experience in literature reviews, data management systems and other research support activities.
  • Computer skills including MS Office, Adobe suite and may include statistical analysis packages or qualitative research packages.
