Job Summary:
The Financial Accountant is responsible for managing the financial and accounting operations of the organization. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirements (including US GAAP and Swiss Code of Obligations), and effective financial planning and analysis. The position also includes oversight of international entities and support for internal projects and audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable processes in compliance with US GAAP and Swiss statutory guidelines.
- Review and post supplier payments and conduct expense audits in line with internal policy regulations.
- Perform general financial accounting tasks, including interpreting accounting data and preparing journal entries.
- Maintain the general ledger and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes, including accruals and prepaid reconciliations.
- Support external and internal audits by preparing and providing necessary documentation.
- Support annual statutory accounts and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Oversee Swiss VAT review within the AP function
- Reimburse employee travel expenses in accordance with company policy.
- Handle and reconcile intercompany transactions.
- Responsible for the accounting of the Israeli entity (small country model), including monthly postings and reconciliations in collaboration with an external accountant.
- Support the Head of Accounting/Finance Lead with general administrative and accounting matters.
- Provide support for internal accounting and lean projects.
- Serve as backup for accounting functions using PeopleSoft CRM.
- Utilize SAP for daily accounting operations; German language proficiency is essential.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 2-5 years’ experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) preferred.
- Proven experience in financial accounting and reporting, including international and multi-GAAP environments.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations (US GAAP, Swiss Code of Obligations).
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel, PeopleSoft CRM (nice to have)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluency in German is required.
