Reporting to the AVP, Global Talent Development, the Director - Learning Lead, North America will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our regional learning strategies. As a key partner to People Partners and regional business leaders, the Director will collaborate on designing tailored learning solutions that align with business objectives and priorities. They will provide expert consultation and advice, lead performance consulting efforts, and drive the integration of regional learning initiatives with our global enterprise strategy. The Director will also manage cross-functional project teams, enhance stakeholder engagement, and leverage external partnerships to deliver innovative and impactful learning experiences.
Position Responsibilities:
- Build strategic partner People Partners and regional business leaders to collaborate on regional specific learning solutions aligned with business strategy and priorities.
- Provide expert consultation and advice in influencing and determining learning needs for regional businesses. Act as a consultant in understanding key success factors for regional businesses.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key cross-functional teams and Global Talent Management and Development COE to ensure alignment and integration of functional learning curriculums with the global enterprise learning strategy.
- Lead performance consulting and conduct needs analysis to diagnose gaps and recommend effective solutions for capability development.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with regional business leaders, subject matter experts, and People Partners to understand functional business strategy and evolving learning needs.
- Provide learning advisory and recommendation on innovative learning solutions, modalities, and rollout plans to key stakeholders.
- Lead cross-functional project teams comprising of learning professionals (including vendors) and subject matter experts to execute strategic business learning initiatives.
- Support global learning governance, increase employee visibility into available learning, and drive adoption of core programs and learning campaigns.
- Partner with global teams to contribute to the review and feedback of learning programs; reinforce best practices and standards for instructional design.
- Stay informed of emerging issues, trends, and evolving functional business requirements to assess potential impacts.
- Manage issues and escalations related to the functional business learning strategy within the portfolio.
- Develop and leverage relationships with external learning partners for best-in-class learning services.
- Participate in internal and external industry committees and conferences for learning professionals.
- Provide ongoing updates and reports on the overall learning strategy to support regional business learning needs.
Required Qualifications:
- At least seven years of progressive experience in learning and education, with a preference for experience in the Financial Services industry.
- Bachelor’s Degree or MBA
- Proven track record in Learning and Development roles, preferably within global organizations.
- Previous consulting experience and strong influence skills are considered an asset.
- Strong instructional design skills, with an emphasis on identifying and applying new and diverse learning modalities.
- Experience with various learning and development technologies, including learning management systems and learner experience platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in presenting and facilitating both online and in-person instructional design.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large projects to completion, including creating and managing detailed project plans.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in data analysis and metrics to measure the effectiveness of learning programs.
- Knowledge of emerging learning trends and technologies.
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree or certifications in Learning and Development, Adult Education, Organizational Psychology, or related field.
- Experience with global learning governance and managing learning initiatives across multiple regions.
- Proficiency with data analytics tools and learning metrics platforms (e.g., PowerBI).
- Strong leadership skills with experience in leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders.

Salary range is expected to be between
$105,750.00 CAD - $190,350.00 CAD
