Location: Portsmouth, NH - Service Credit Union Corporate Headquarters
Pay: Starting at $22.62 Negotiable with experience
M-F 11:30am - 8:00pm w/Rotating Saturday shift
The Centralized Lending Specialist will be part of a team with the primary responsibility to review and decision all loan applications that are not instant decisioned via the loan origination system. This includes web applications and pending loan queues within the loan origination system to ensure service is provided in a timely manner.
Position Responsibilities:
- Review and decision any new loan application via the loan queues, phone, or web application.
- Review all verification of income documentation for accuracy and investigate potentially forged documents to mitigate fraud exposure.
- Request and review supporting loan documentation to loan processing system, as applicable.
- Work with the Lending department on special projects as assigned.
- Responsible for interpreting loan application data using critical thinking skills.
- Responsible for meeting and maintaining service level agreements for loan decisions.
- Review member accounts in Special Accounts database system and comprehend collection notes.
- Ability to analyze credit reports for credit worthiness and fraud detection.
- Possess a thorough understanding of all Lending policy, procedures, and promotions.
- Work with Marketing for application tracking on promotions.
- Review exception authority loans, to include, senior loan officer designation, as needed.
- Collaborate weekly with the team to share feedback regarding case studies and create decision consistencies
- Abide by all regulations to include Fair Lending to ensure sound and fair decisions with each application.
- Communicate decisions and reasoning to branches, as needed, for clear communication on the loan decision that was made and easy translation for the member.
- Demonstrate commitment to the goals and needs of the department.
- Ability to continuously prioritize work and manage time effectively to meet department objectives.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding credit union policies and procedures, member financial data, personal information, and work-related events.
- Provide quality support and maintain a professional relationship with peers, management, other staff, and members through cooperation, mutual trust and respect.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing
- Proficient with Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Power point, and various web-based applications required.
- Knowledge of Service FCU’s loan products and procedures preferred
