Internal Audit Group

AIG’s Internal Audit Group (IAG) provides independent and objective assurance, advice, and insight guided by a philosophy of adding value to improve the operations of AIG. IAG assists AIG in accomplishing its objectives by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of AIG’s control environment including risk management, operational, financial, internal control, and governance processes.

As an Audit Manager, you will be part of IAG’s Technology Audit Team based in Tokyo covering Applications, core Infrastructure, Information Security and Change.  You will collaborate with the technology business stakeholders, overseas IAG team members and other assurance teams to:

  • Assist in planning and executing individual audit engagements, ensuring that inherent risks in AIG’s Technology and Security functions are identified, and that management has implemented appropriate controls to mitigate the risks.
  • Monitor technology transformation initiatives, including Japan IT modernization and cloud migrations, and perform Change Reviews as needed.
  • Participate in the development and execution of an annual risk-based audit plan.
  • Contribute to the overall effectiveness and value of IAG by recommending and developing innovative approaches and solutions (e.g., the use of data analytics, automation, generative AI, and audit execution practices that develop agility)

You will gain a unique view of AIG, as part of planning and executing on all aspects of the audit process and risk assessment activities and will build close working relationships with business and functional leaders, colleagues across other assurance functions, and fellow team members.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Full audit lifecycle - plan, test controls, communicate audit results, and perform issue verification.
  • Assist IAG senior management in the development and execution of a risk-based audit plan.
  • Assist in managing relationships with key technology stakeholders.
  • Clearly and concisely communicate audit results or other key messages to a variety of stakeholders, including senior business and audit management,
  • Keep abreast of emerging industry or regulatory topics/issues that may impact audit coverage.
  • Assist in continuously updating the technology business risk and control environment assessments, including key risks and controls, through periodic client meetings, ad-hoc walk throughs, and data analytics.

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of relevant audit experience (will consider relevant technology experience for candidates looking to move into a risk and control role).
  • A certified professional designation (e.g., CIA, CISA, CISM, CISSP) is expected or must be obtained within the first 12 months of hire date.
  • Familiarity with conducting cloud technology audits (AWS and/or GCP) is preferred.
  • Cyber security audit experience is preferred.
  • Good at cultivating relationships with stakeholders and within the IAG group, building trust that facilitates an open mindset and free exchange of information.
  • Confidence to deliver difficult messages to auditees, and determine appropriate reporting and escalation as needed.
  • Ability to thrive within a team-oriented environment while focusing on what matters most.
  • Function independently and multi-task in a dynamic, changing environment.
  • Strong communication (oral and written), presentation, and project management skills. Japanese / English bi-lingual skills are preferred (native in one, upper intermediate/business level in other).
  • Possess and promote a culture of intellectual curiosity.
  • Experience with auditing leveraging the use of data analysis tools is a plus.
  • Experience working in the financial services/insurance industries a plus.
