Responsibilities

Throughout the year, Houlihan Lokey offers 6-month internship opportunities working within the Debt Advisory team at their Paris office. The internship is an excellent opportunity to work alongside investment bankers in a stimulating environment on assignments for clients in various industries.

As an Intern, you will help provide support across transactions, gaining exposure to various debt products and financing structures, such as bank debt/senior loans, second-lien debt, unitranche debt, mezzanine debt and equity. This may be applied across a variety of situations, including growth capital, acquisition financing, refinancings and repricings, dividend recapitalizations, and special situations. You will work with talented, dedicated professionals who will give you broad exposure to the many different issues and concerns affecting companies and investors today.

You will research and analyse financial statements using financial models, economic conditions, industry-specific developments, and investment attributes of publicly traded and private companies. You will also assist in preparing client ready presentations and process materials as well as co-ordinating client and lender calls.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 9-12 months of internship experience in leveraged finance, debt fund, debt advisory or rating advisory
  • Verbal and written fluency in both French and English (additional language skills are also advantageous)
  • Must be in final year of university, preferrably studying for a master's in business, management, or finance
  • Must have some knowledge of debt products and structures
  • Strong analytical and modelling skills
  • Good knowledge of/experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • You must be motivated and have the ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff in a rapidly changing, demanding, but ultimately rewarding environment
