Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
Project Implementation (50%)
- Ensure that WASH intervention is timely, relevant, and accountable to affected populations.
- Support rapid assessments, beneficiary targeting, and adaptation of program approaches based on evolving needs.
- Ensure the quality of the planning, implementation and follow up of all technical aspects of child protection activities which will be implemented by project.
- Conduct Training and awareness of child protection related topic to selected beneficiaries.
- Ongoing coaching and mentoring provided to project beneficiaries.
Assist in the Design, Monitoring and Evaluation of WASH interventions in projects (20%)
- Gather data on WASH sector from primary and secondary sources for the design of sector-related projects and programmes.
- Project/program activities, results, best practices and lessons learned documented and shared with key partners.
- Ensure that WASH Activities are implemented as per design, standards, and schedule, agreed with World Vision management, donors and WASH cluster recommendations.
- Undertake regular monitoring visits to projects to help improve quality implementation
Networks strengthened with relevant stakeholders (20%)
- Liaise with key government, non-governmental organizations, and UN-agencies for shared learning, facilitation of joint implementation and leveraging of benefits from similar interventions
- Engage with stakeholders: Faith leaders, village leaders/CCCM, community people.
Perform other tasks duly assign by supervisor/ manager (5%)
- Carry out or engage task with good judgement and responsibly.
- Perform additional duties and assignments proactively.
KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in working in fragile context in Kachin.
- Minimum 2 years working experience in WASH, Child Protection in conflict/humanitarian settings, preferably in the areas of WASH in emergency.
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline (Engineering or relevant WASH technical qualifications or related field.)
- People- oriented as well as Result-oriented
- Good facilitation skills and proven leadership.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good computer skills (word, excel)
- Experience in organizing, preparing and delivering WASH training is essential.
- Good knowledge and understanding on international Child Protection and national legal framework on child rights and child protection.
- Able to communicate in local dialect (desirable)
- Good verbal and written English skills (desirable)
- Based at Bhamo field Office and will visits to target IDP camps and villages
