Veterinary Assistant Oncology

VCA Veterinary Emergency Service & Veterinary Specialty Center in Middleton, WI is expanding its Pet CancerCare Center and is seeking a Veterinary Assistant for our Medical Oncology Services.

Position Overview: This is a great opportunity for an Assistant who is passionate about specialty medicine, wants to make a difference in the lives of pets and their families facing cancer diagnoses, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Assisting with chemotherapy administration and safety protocols 

  • Handling oncology patient intakes, treatments, and follow-up appointments 

  • Providing compassionate support and clear communication to pet parents 

  • Collaborating with the Oncology team and other departments 

  • Obtaining and preparing lab samples (blood, urine, cytology, etc.) 

  • Performing radiographs and monitoring imaging procedures 

  • Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment logs 

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a weekday schedule.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ months of clinical experience in veterinary medicine

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Passion for veterinary medicine and elevating team performance.
