[What the role is]
The Digital Transformation Office (DTO) is looking for a UX Engineer / UI/UX Developer Trainee to support the development and prototyping of digital services.
In this hands-on role, you will have the opportunity to design, prototype, and test new digital solutions that aim to improve how staff and residents interact with community services
[What you will be working on]
Digital Transformation Activities: Prototyping, Analysis & Innovation
Rapid Prototyping & UI/UX Design: You will create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for new digital solutions, working closely with DTO officers and stakeholders to iterate and improve designs based on feedback.
Business Analysis & Process Improvement: You will assist in mapping out user journeys and business workflows, identifying opportunities for digital innovation and process redesign.
UAT and QA Support: You will contribute to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and help ensure the quality of digital systems, tracking defects, conducting tests, and refining solutions.
Innovation & Experimentation: You will experiment with new technologies, such as AI-assisted tools or automation, to improve DTO’s service offerings and engage residents in new ways.
Throughout your traineeship, you will work on real-world prototypes, assist in digital service trials, and participate in business process reengineering (BPR) activities.
[What we are looking for]
Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, Interactive Media, Design-related fields
Technical Skills: Basic experience with front-end development (JavaScript/Typescript, HTML5, CSS3, Node.js, ReactJS/Vue) or familiarity with low-code platforms (e.g., PowerApps, UI Path).
Design Tools: Familiar with UI/UX design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Miro).
Some understanding of UI/UX design principles: with creative and analytical thinking skills to translate requirements with User Experience in mind for prototyping
Interest in Digital Transformation: A passion for design thinking, business analysis, and improving public services through technology.
Collaboration & Communication: You should have strong collaborative skills and be comfortable engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to achieve project goals, with an attention to detail.
Learning Mindset: A proactive learner who is eager to develop both technical and business analysis skills, with a desire to contribute to the public sector’s digital future.
