P&C IT Services provides professional services to help our business units and corporate functions use technology to create, manage, and optimize information and business processes.  IT Services can include a wide range of activities such as: software development, data management, Cloud services, IT security, network security, technical support, establishing and overseeing access rights, procuring and maintaining equipment or software, managing the infrastructure, and defining security procedures,  The overall goal of IT Services is to provide technology solutions that increase efficiency, reduce costs, and give our company a competitive advantage over our competitors.

Our Underwriting Desktop Lab (UD Lab) is looking for a Technical Product Manager to join our team and work a hybrid schedule out of the Cincinnati office. We're looking for someone who loves solving problems, isn't afraid of new challenges, and is passionate about product practices.

The UD Lab empowers highly collaborative teams to quickly deliver quality products that provide clear business value. We do this, currently, through the advocacy and practice of a Product Mindset, Extreme Programming, and Cloud Native Development practices.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Individual Contributor:

  • Will actively work as part of a cross-functional product team on discovering, designing, and building valuable solutions
  • Will partner with the business owner to prioritize the business objectives and, as needed, communicate with other stakeholders
  • Will participate in the implementation of new and revised insurance products, processes, and other deliverables to meet business goals, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Will lead and facilitate product team ceremonies and discovery activities

Leadership:

  • Ensures collaboration with customer stakeholders, product/project managers, and technical teams to deeply understand customer objectives, capabilities, and priorities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills: verbal, written, and listening to various levels of individual contributors and leaders around the organization
  • Ability to support multiple products and domains
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and navigate complex decision making
  • Prior experience working in a product model is preferred
  • Prior experience in insurance industry preferred

Other Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

Field of Study: Information Technology, Computer Science, Business or a related discipline.

Experience: Generally, a minimum of 3 years of related experience. Experience with XP and CND practices a plus.
