WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites
About This Opportunity
A great opportunity has arisen to be part of our Merchant Services Lab working as the Team Product Owner (PO) for our Global Transaction Services (GTS) & Schemes team.
Merchant Services is on an exciting journey and there is no better a time to join us. The Merchant Services Lab is delivering the Cardnet Transformation Programme, a multi-year business transformation programme delivering materially improved customer experience and sustainable growth in merchant count, revenue, profitability and market share. We manage the key journeys, propositions and channels that support our Cardnet customers accepting payments by card both in person and online.
As the Product Owner, you'll have overall ownership for this product backlog with the primary aim of delivering value to customers and partners by ensuring the team focuses on the right priorities.
Job Description
In our GTS & Schemes team, you'll be managing the product backlog for Merchant Services largest corporate and institutional clients, as well as leading prioritisation & delivery on all scheme (Visa, Mastercard & Amex) mandated development. We're looking for a motivated and enthusiastic leader, who will juggle multiple initiatives, partners and mentor junior team members. The ideal candidate will be able to bridge the gap between business, transformation and technical teams, whilst delivering outcomes for Merchant Services. They will use a variety of tools, practices, and processes to deliver best in class solutions with a customer-centric approach.
As a Product Owner in your day to day you'll:
Work hand-in-hand with our Schemes & Global Transaction Services product teams to understand our business and product strategy to craft and prioritise the roadmap for delivery
Be data-driven and bring evidence-based decision-making to explain ‘why’
Use your experience working with technical and cross-functional teams to deliver change
Be able to think ‘big’ but value incremental improvements and value delivery
Influence by building trust and empowering the team with responsibility
Be a great teammate with a positive demeanour
Inspire your team with energy and passion
What You’ll Need
A payments background and a good understanding of Merchant Services - experience and working knowledge of scheme mandates is critical, and experience supporting the large corporate and institutional client segment is also highly desirable
A strategic approach with the ability to think laterally, take initiative and implement the product vision
Proven Product Owner experience working in a cross-functional team, and define work to be done
The ability to influence up and down the organisation and explain prioritisation to senior partners
Possess the ability to present complex information simply
Proven track record of delivering commercial customer-focused features in a fast-paced, flexible environment
Experience of building a phenomenal team environment that attracts and retains talent
