Cardinal Health, with over 1300 employees in Canada, is an essential link in the Canadian healthcare supply chain, providing over 70,000 products to healthcare facilities and medical professionals across the country.

The Supply Chain manager will be responsible for the National Brands (domestic) portfolio. This position will be a hybrid role based out of our Vaughan Head Office. The role manages a team of Supply Chain Analysts. The Supply Chain Manager will focus on optimizing planning, inventory management, and end-to-end operational excellence. This role is ideal for a leader who thrives on problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and driving strategic initiatives that enhance customer experience and supply chain performance.

The ideal candidate will manage inventory across our distribution network along with the management of our suppliers.  They will establish standard operating procedures for the department in order to drive a more effective, analytical and proactive based replenishment process.  The ideal candidate would have a passion for process improvement.  The Supply Chain Manager, will be involved in a number of initiatives that directly impact Cardinal Health’s customer service levels, corporate investment targets, cost reduction efforts and profitability.

The Supply Chain Manager works in a highly cross functional environment, interacting with external vendors along with internal sales, marketing, customers, transportation and distribution teams.  Improving the customer experience is a critical component to the success of this role.

Your Contributions to the Organization will be to:  

  • Lead and develop a team of Analysts responsible for Supply Planning, replenishment, and inventory management across multiple business areas

  • Mentor and empower team members through coaching, performance feedback, and professional development

  • Drive operational excellence through KPI management, root cause analysis, and proactive process improvement

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Sales, Operations, and Finance to align supply strategies with business goals

  • Support and optimize planning tools and data accuracy within Kinaxis and SAP environments

  • Develop and execute strategic supply chain initiatives that improve service levels

  • Leverage data analytics and scenario modeling to inform decision-making and enhance agility in supply chain planning

  • Support the Director Supply Chain on improving Supply Chain Processes

  • Identify and help define the business process to automate repetitive administrative tasks

  • Support Supplier management by collaborating with vendors to improve service level and hold vendors accountable to fill rates and on time delivery

  • Drive process improvement within the Supply Chain network

  • Optimize the flow of inventory through Cardinal’s network through analysis of cross dock or direct shipping options

  • Manage the excess inventory and implement plans to deplete

This Job might be for you if: 

  • You possess a Bachelor’s degree in related field, Master’s degree preferred

  • You showcase 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain management in progressively more challenging roles (preferred)

  • You have 3 – 5 years for people leader experience

  • Strong financial acumen, analytical and communication skills are required

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Access and SAP system.

  • Experience with Supply Chain planning system such as Kinaxis, is an asset.

  • Experience with SAP is an asset

  • Ability to work in a matrix environment with sales and marketing, warehouse operations and transportation to support both functional and business goals

  • Problem solver with an important sense of urgency

  • Strong planning and organizational skills.  A person who can balance good listening skills with the assertiveness to accomplish deliverables

  • You demonstrate cross-functional leadership skills, ability to navigate cultural and differing perspectives, including stakeholder engagement with sales, marketing, operational and technical functions

  • You are an excellent communicator (written, verbal & presentation). Able to bring business and technical people together around clear product concepts, and motivate them to deliver whole, working solutions
