Senior Manager, GL Accounting

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for leading, enhancing and delivering the accounting operations, controls, financial and close processes for our global organization.  This person will have a passion for US GAAP accounting while leading a team and have a proven ability to foster proactive working relationships with cross-functional teams. You will partner with senior finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the company maintains robust accounting practices, meets regulatory and external reporting requirements, and drives process improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day global non-revenue accounting activities to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, and international standards, internal policies, SOX controls and external audits
  • Own the global GL financial close process and related activities to ensure complete and accurate financials in accordance with U.S. GAAP, including managing/reviewing close activities such as journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analysis and consolidation within the established close timeline
  • Develop, implement and maintain accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to support compliance with US GAAP (and/or IFRS if applicable), SEC requirements and company standards.
  • Provide in-depth variance and trend analysis, commentary and insight to senior leadership, supporting decision-making, forecasting and budget processes.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams, including SEC reporting and financial planning
  • Partner with the Technical Accounting team on the implementation of new accounting standards or accounting for non-standard transactions
  • Drive process improvement and automation efforts to streamline accounting processes , reduce month-end close cycle, increase efficiency and scalability and improve the quality of monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, and internal controls
  • Mentor, develop and coach accounting staff to develop a high performing accounting team; build succession plans and improve team capabilities.  
  • Manage SOX compliance for GL Accounting team
  • Participate in special projects (system implementations, process redesign, M&A integrations, carve-outs) and drive change initiatives to enhance accounting operations.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. or above degree in Accounting, CPA required
  • 8-12 years of progressive experience - preferably a mix of Big 4 accounting firm experience and  Experience with large (>US$1B revenue) global publicly traded company (market cap >US$10B preferred)
  • 5+ years in a supervisory/management role leading accounting teams in a complex organization
  • Deep knowledge of US GAAP
  • Demonstrated experience managing global operations, multi-jurisdiction accounting, inter-company processes, and/or shared service center environments
  • Experience working with ERP and accounting systems
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills as well as ability to effectively use accounting and operational knowledge to collaborate, guide and interact professionally with a wide range of personnel at various levels within the organization to drive sound business decisions
  • Ability to effectively present information with confidence and accuracy to various levels of internal management
  • Ability to conduct technical accounting research and document findings
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to adapt to change
  • Exceptional organizational skills, project management experience to include management of large-scale/global initiatives
  • Strong leadership, coaching and team development skills, with the ability to influence across levels and geographies
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills, with a focus on continuous improvement, scalability and automation
  • Strong knowledge of SOX requirements, including the ability to assess, develop and implement internal controls
  • Proven track record of reducing close cycle, implementing automation or robotics in accounting processes

Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect SailPoint’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-mid-max, USD):

$117,700 - $168,200 - $218,700

Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee’s home location.
