This is a key role in our procurement team requiring a person who is proactive with a can-do attitude and will be responsible for performing and managing procurement and purchasing activities across the organisation.

Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to clearly define, validate and refine the scope of supply, procurement requirements ensuring that they align with business objectives, technical standards and contractual obligations.
- Research and analyse market to make informed decisions about purchasing.
- Manage procurement from Purchase requests through to delivery, ensure delivery of supply to the required schedule, scope and quality.
- Manage compliance and ensure all required approvals are in place prior to purchase order release.
- Support internal stakeholders with day-to-day system assistance on the company ERP platform, ensuring smooth operations and effective system use.
- Engage the appropriate delegated staff to address conflicts / risks with commercial terms and supplier conditions that vary from standard.
- Ensure all purchasing activities adhere to company policies, procedures, and any relevant procurement laws
- Release purchase orders, ensuring they are complete and accurate prior to release, including clear definition of requirements, cost, schedule and quality.
- Experience communicating with parties within and outside of own team and work area.
- Ability to draw on prior experience to analyse and solve difficult to complex problems that are general in nature and may require understanding a broad set of issues across other work areas.
- Broad understanding of freight & Distribution requirements, including INCO terms
- Ability to set and achieve day-to-day objectives for own area of responsibility to meet the objectives or goals of projects and work
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Equivalent experience to, or a Diploma in Supply Chain (Procurement, Material Logistics), Contracting, Business, Commerce, Law, or Finance, or relevant technical background.
- Minimum of 5-7 years prior relevant experience required.
- Requires advanced knowledge of supply chain (procurement, material logistics), contracting, business, commerce, law or finance work area.
- Requires practical knowledge of projects, programs, or systems relevant to the business with the ability to make enhancements and leverage knowledge in daily work.
- Operating within or supporting program / project procurement activities.
- Using online procurement and enterprise resource planning systems.
- Demonstrated experience in commercial negotiations.
- Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security clearance as needed. Eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva
