RF Package Design Intern

INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION:

The RF package design intern will be responsible for characterizing, designing and verifying the RF performance of IC packages via EM simulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary duties will include 3D EM modeling and design of on-chip passives, package passives and transitions to PCB, as well as the design of the mm-wave structures on PCBs used for evaluation of chips. More design tasks include design and verification of antennas and antenna array boards for various applications, as well as thermal characterization of the designed packages.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong working knowledge of EM tools such as EMX, ADS Momentum, HFSS, EMPRO and SONNET
• Good knowledge of Cadence, Mentor, and ADS design, verification & layout tools
• Excellent interpersonal and teaming skills with ability to work as part of a cross-functional team
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of thermal simulation tools is a plus.
• Position requires a B.S.E.E. degree with a preferred graduation grade of Excellent and a graduation/senior project related to the RF/mmwave domain.
