Quality Officer - Remanufacturing Plant

Reporting to: Site Quality Lead

Job Summary

The Quality Officer is responsible for ensuring that the components, sub-assemblies and finished products from the remanufacturing process meet customer, internal and regulatory quality standards. This role works closely with production, engineering and supply chain teams to inspect, monitor, analyze and improve quality performance and process adherence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming inspection of Dirty cores, verifying specification conformance.
  • Conduct in-process inspections: periodic inspections, to detect non-conformances and initiate containment as needed.
  • Use measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, CMM where applicable) to record dimensional data and verify conformance to engineering drawings/specs.
  • Perform Eddy Current Testing, HIPOT testing, and Insulation testing where applicable.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, manufacturing process specifications, control plans, and first-article inspection reports (FAI).
  • Monitor and maintain measurement equipment, jigs/gauges; ensure calibration is current and properly documented.
  • Record, and report quality data: defect rates, scrap trends, gauge R&R.
  • Assist root cause investigations and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) for quality issues, non-conforming material disposition and supplier quality concerns.
  • Provide training or support to production/assembly operators on measurement techniques, inspection standards and quality awareness.
  • Participate in new product introduction (NPI), process qualification events (PFMEA, control plan), process improvement initiatives and remanufacturing process optimization.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3 Years Diploma in Electrical with strong quality / inspection experience. 
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in manufacturing quality or remanufacturing environment; experience with Engines, Turbochargers, Traction Motors is highly desirable.
  • Proficient with metrology tools: micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, CMM operation, gauges.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, control plans and manufacturing process documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) report generation skills.
  • Good communication, problem solving and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work on shop floor environment: ability to stand, inspect, handle components, occasionally lift moderate weight with crane.

  • Continuous improvement mindset - focus on reducing defects/scrap, improving first‐time yield, increasing process capability.
  • Primarily shop floor environment in a remanufacturing plant: machinery, moving parts, occasional lifting of parts, Use of PPEs and compliance with EHS.
  • Shift work will be required depending on production schedule.
