What we want
Step into a role as a Program Assistant where your love for mathematics becomes a catalyst for student success! In this role, the Program Assistant will help learners conquer their math challenges and build lasting confidence. We are seeking a candidate with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and prior experience working with Mathematics Developmental Education students or Math deficient students. The Program Assistant is responsible for the day to day coordination of the mathematics portion of the TSI program such as scheduling class peer tutor assignments in coordination with the Senior Associate Director. The Program Assistant will create curriculum materials, databases and will serve as a math pod tutor.

Essential Duties/Tasks
Tutor
Responsible for the day to day coordination of the mathematics portion of the program.
Tutors pods of developmental mathematics students throughout the semester, as well as guides and mentors the Peer Tutors with their pods, checking peer tutor attendance at class times and doing peer tutor observations each semester.
Creates developmental mathematics materials to distribute to the other tutors.
Maintains Google Drive for course materials.
Serves as a first point of contact for program information and coordinates responses to requests for program information.
Technical
Creates and maintains attendance spreadsheets for students and Peer Tutors each semester.
Prepares program correspondence through mass emails to students to remind them of state attendance policy, attendance to workshops and other graded events.
Coordinates Peer Tutor’s attendance at trainings, orientations and special events.
Organizes Diagnostic Test results, groups students and tutors based on outcomes in coordination with the Senior Associate Director.
Organizes required video data for developmental and co-requisite courses.
Scheduling
Organizes Diagnostic Test results, groups students and tutors based on outcomes in coordination with the Senior Associate Director.
Assist in scheduling meetings, class meetings, program seminars and training, workshops, orientations, special events, tutor assignments and exit exams.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or equivalent combination of education and experience.
No prior experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working with Mathematics Developmental Education students or Math deficient students and some professional experience in a higher education setting.
Having foundational knowledge of Mathematics,
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, will serve as a developmental mathematics pod tutor.
Moderate to advanced word processing and spreadsheet applications, will create and maintain databases, program files and program materials.
