What’s the role?
The Production Manager is responsible for all aspects of the Production department (i.e., hydrophilic and hydrophobic button production, machining, tumbling, cleanroom, and packaging) as well as receiving, planning, warehousing and shipping operations, The individual in this role provides the strategic direction to these areas and establishes a process of measuring and holding the team accountable for goal attainment. Ultimately establishing a process to ensure the finished goods are produced in accordance with quality standards, norms, and good manufacturing practices for medical devices. Grow production staff skills, performances, and motivation in the frame of ZEISS Values. Establish and continue to improve lean production.
To organize the Production department (IOLs and Biomaterials Production) in order to guarantee Production Plan achievement and reach Quality, Cost, Service, and Safety targets. The Senior Production Manager establishes the KPIs for the production operations and then develops a process for goal achievement.

Here’s what you’ll do:
To organize the Production department (IOLs and Biomaterials Production) in order to guarantee Production Plan achievement and reach Quality, Cost, Service, and Safety targets. The Senior Production Manager establishes the KPIs for the production operations and then develops a process for goal achievement.
o Managing up to seven direct reports and indirectly all production employees, establishing the monthly targets for the production department (Volume, Scrap rate, Productivity, Lead Time) in order to achieve the Demand Management Plan and to reach annual targets.
o Maintains necessary production indicators to identify loss of performance causes and launch action plans to reach the expected level of performance.
o Defines the workforce plan and provide necessary information to the Human Resources department in order to continuously adjust the workforce to customer demand.
o Reviews the budget for the Production department (Expenses and Capital expenses) on a regular basis.
o Ensure that safety rules are implemented and respected by the production department.
To guarantee that finished goods are produced in accordance with quality standards, norms, and good manufacturing practices for medical devices.
o Make sure that appropriate training and information are provided to the production staff regarding the quality system, SOPs, and good manufacturing practices (working in clean rooms documentation, traceability, etc. ...).
o Make sure that SOPs are fully respected in production.
• To adapt the Production department organization to customer needs development, environmental changes, and SBU strategy evolution with a continuous effort to improve production performance.
o Support production capacity midterm and long-term planning in cooperation with Process Engineering.
o Make sure that work organization (working time, shifts, management structure...) is always adapted to a current and future situation.
o Promote a continuous improvement approach in the production department.
To lead the team of supervisors and assigned department. Grow production staff’s skills, performances, and motivation in the frame of ZEISS Values.
o Develop good cooperation and team spirit between all supervisors.
o Communicate regularly to the Production department about company strategy, department goals, and organizational changes
o Develop flexibility in the direct workforce by implementing a multi-skill plan with the support of Supervisors and shift leaders
o Develop the performance of his direct reports and of the whole production staff. Implement an appropriate system of feedback for every employee of the department.
o Assess continuously the level of motivation of the Production department and implement necessary actions to maintain it at the best level possible.
o Guide, motivate, assess, control, and develop supervisors. Participate in decisions regarding individual HR measures (in agreement with the HR department).
o Develop efficient structure and processes in the area of delegation.
o Ensure good communication and cooperation with other departments.

The annual pay range for this position is $105,000 - $131,200.
The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
This position is eligible for a Performance Bonus.
