About this Opportunity

We have an excellent opportunity for a People Advisor to join us on a 12-month secondment/FTC, supporting the Business & Commercial Banking division. You’ll work closely with our senior business and People Leaders to deliver on our people and business agenda, including shaping a diverse workforce, driving a high performance culture and proactive management of our talent. Offering a unique chance to deepen your understanding of different commercial challenges, strategic priorities and applying your experience into this rapidly evolving environment.

A day in the life of a People Advisor is fast paced and constantly evolving. As an integral part of the team, you’ll be involved in all aspects of the colleague lifecycle, working with our Centres of Excellence and business teams across topics such as strategic workforce planning, recruitment, culture, organisation design, talent management, reward, learning & development, people risk, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build trusted relationships with business leaders and colleagues, acting as an ambassador for behavioural and cultural change.

  • Cultural Transformation: Drive inclusion and diversity, embed a strong risk culture, and support the evolution of our ways of working.

  • Data-Driven Insight: Use people-related data and MI to shape people solutions and proactive interventions.

  • People Support: Provide sound judgement and guidance on HR policies and procedures, ensuring fairness and alignment with our values.

  • Strategic Initiatives: Lead divisional initiatives, support business change, and anticipate future people-related risks.

  • Cyclical Processes: Support delivery of Group-wide processes such as Pay and GPS.

  • People Products Interface: Act as a connector between the business and our People Products—resourcing, talent, learning, and more.

What you'll need

  • Experienced HR practitioner, who has managed the delivery of performance management to drive high performance at pace

  • Experience in managing complex organisation redesign and managing the change associated with this in a structured manner.

  • Evidence of building organisational resilience into a diverse workforce.

  • Working knowledge of a skills based workforce and ability to link this to a robust talent management approach.

  • Able to use people data and insight to drive action

  • Strategic thinking and the ability to anticipate future people risks working in an agile way.

  • Experience leading initiatives and collaborating across Centres of Excellence and with our People platform

  • Dedicated prioritisation to spend time on the things which make the most impact
