Partner Sales Engineer

We are looking for a Partner Sales Engineer at Striim who will play a key role in empowering our global partner ecosystem. This position requires a combination of deep technical expertise with strong business acumen to enable system integrators (SIs) and technology partners to effectively position, deploy, and scale Striim’s real-time data integration solutions.

This role is 50% focused on partner and system integrator enablement and 50% on presales activities, supporting account and partner teams throughout the entire sales cycle — from discovery and technical validation to successful proof-of-concept (POC) deployments.

You’ll act as the technical bridge between Striim and our partners, ensuring that every solution aligns with customer goals, accelerates time-to-value, and demonstrates the unique advantages of Striim’s real-time data platform.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and provide software and systems integration support during the sales cycle through custom code to meet technical requirements.
  • Gather an understanding of the customer’s IT architecture and system requirements to determine and execute the validation of Striim technology via pilots.
  • Determine the design specifications based on the systems requirement, provide installation instructions and guidelines, and other system-related information.
  • Ensure the stability, security, scalability, and the successful integration of the Striim platform within the system architecture of the customer’s IT environment
  • Develop knowledge and capacity to test and integrate the Striim Platform with a variety of Enterprise Data Platforms, Systems, and Architecture to include SQL, RDBMS, NoSQL, MQ based message systems, Kafka, Linux/Unix, SOA, Data Security/Masking and OOP&D.
  • Develop and deploy proof-of-concept (POC) applications to demonstrate value to prospective customers, while sizing technical requirements and securing customer technical resources and commitments.
  • Develop and maintain a broad knowledge of enterprise IT architecture and systems, Big Data platforms, Business Intelligence software, ETL Platforms, Kafka, Traditional SQL and NoSQL RDBMS, Data Replication solutions.
  • Participate in requirement analysis/product capability assessments with prospects.
  • Attend conferences, seminars and events related to the industry to keep our market awareness sharp.
  • Resolve occasional technical and product challenges to become successful in deployment of Striim.
  • Handle objections and work with Striim Product and Engineering teams to address any gaps in solutions presented to customers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' professional experience as a Solutions Architect, Solutions Consultant, Sales Engineer, Pre-Sales Engineer or equivalent role.
  • 5+ years' experience as a Software Engineer/Application Developer/Database Developer.
  • 5+ years’ experience with Java, Python, SQL, Rest APIs, JSON, and XML.
  • 4+ years’ experience with providing Systems or Software Support to End-Users.
  • Deep knowledge of database management systems software such as Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres, and SQL Programming Language.
  • Principle-level knowledge of both ETL and ELT approaches to data pipelines.
  • Experience working with Change Data Capture (CDC) and large data environments, data warehousing, date lakes, and data integrators.
  • Principle-level knowledge working with, configuring, and troubleshooting Operating Systems based on Unix/Linux and Windows.
  • Principle-level knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible/Terraform.
  • Experience working with Message Systems such as Kafka and JMS.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake and Databricks.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Solutions such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.
  • Passion for organization, simplicity, efficiency, and action. Candidate must be observant, listen well, and take time understanding the nuanced details of a problem.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Effective sales presentation and platform training skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.

Compensation 

Base compensation: $150,000 - $180,000 USD on an annualized basis.  In addition to base pay, this role offers the opportunity to earn commission-based rewards.
