Job Summary: This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Major Duties:

  • You will participate in the development and execution of operations.
  • You will support the specification of requirements, the development of systems or software, the transition of the systems or software to operations, and other operations.
  • You will utilize his or her expertise to participate as an effective member of the USNO team.
  • You will process and analyze data in support of the mission.
  • You will participate in a wide variety of communication.
  • You will be writing and presenting scientific and technical material to audiences ranging from USNO staff to governmental or international experts.
  • You will be creating standard operating procedures.
  • You will be documenting software and documenting the requirements and design review of projects.
  • You will research in fields related to USNO mission.
  • You will perform a wide variety of research with the goal of contributing toward DoD related problems of current interest.

Qualifications: GS-11 Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: You will apply a broad knowledge of diverse mathematical concepts and procedures. Guidelines will normally apply to his/her assignments but require significant adaptations for particular assignments. You will provide information and guidance on unusual problems. You will determine the nature of the issues involved and independently plans. and carries out the work. You will review for general adequacy, effect of findings, and confonnance with policies and procedures. You will make commitments on matters in his/her area that are covered by precedents. regulations, policies, and practices. GS-12 Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: You will provided for a period dwing which the selected employee will gain experience through progressively more responsible assignments. You will work under gradually decreasing supervisory control until such time as the incumbent is fully qualified to assume the full range of duties and responsibilities, as described in the target position. You will become less detailed as the incumbent acquires additional knowledge and experience.
