About the Role:

We are seeking a results-driven Manager of Merchandising Operations to lead our Retail merchandising operations. This leader will drive the end-to-end operational process—from demand consolidation through delivery of bulk goods—to support seamless execution across Retail, Wholesale, Ecomm, and International markets.

This role oversees geographically distributed teams based in New York and India, and serves as a key cross-functional partner to Merchandising, Design, Planning, Sales, Supply Chain, and Sourcing. The ideal candidate combines operational expertise, systems thinking, and leadership acumen to transform complex workflows into streamlined, scalable, and efficient processes that enable speed-to-market, product accuracy, and executional excellence.

What You'll Do:

Strategic Leadership & Operational Excellence

  • Own and evolve the enterprise-wide merchandising operations model, including seasonal and off-calendar workflows.
  • Lead calendar governance and milestone management, ensuring alignment across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with global teams to drive operational agility and improve time-to-market execution across multiple channels.

Global Team & Vendor Management

  • Directly lead Merch Ops teams in New York and India, ensuring process consistency and strong regional collaboration.
  • Build effective relationships with vendors and overseas production partners, ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery and issue resolution.
  • Act as a senior liaison for overseas vendor issues and internal escalations, ensuring timely communication and resolution.

Process Innovation & Systems Enablement

  • Drive the adoption and scaling of operational tools and systems (e.g., PLM, GBCC, BY and workflow automation platforms).
  • Lead initiatives to streamline and digitize merchandising processes, reduce manual work, and enhance visibility across teams.
  • Champion continuous improvement across calendar execution, delivery tracking, and vendor collaboration.

Product Delivery & Execution

  • Ensure on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery of samples and bulk goods in alignment with assortment and channel priorities.
  • Monitor and manage weekly WIP tracking, consolidator dates, and vendor performance metrics.
  • Resolve complex PO and product execution issues in partnership with Sourcing, Design, and Merchandising.

Cross-Functional Influence & Collaboration

  • Serve as a key partner to senior leaders across Merchandising, Planning, Sales, Design, and Supply Chain.
  • Represent Operations in strategic forums and milestone meetings, driving alignment and executional clarity across functions.
  • Collaborate with leadership to prioritize initiatives, allocate resources, and support company-wide merchandising goals.

Team Development & Organizational Growth

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and operational excellence.
  • Define org structure and talent strategy that aligns with evolving business needs and long-term growth.
  • Attract, retain, and grow top-tier operational talent across both domestic and international teams

What You'll Bring:

  • 10–15+ years of experience in Production, Merchandising Operations, or Supply Chain
  • Proven experience leading global, cross-functional teams—particularly in high-volume, multi-channel organizations
  • Experience managing operations across regions, including international hubs such as India or Asia

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA or similar) a plus

Skills & Competencies:

  • Deep understanding of product lifecycle and merchandising execution
  • Expert in operational calendars, vendor management, and delivery tracking
  • Strong systems acumen (e.g., PLM, Excel, reporting tools)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead through influence, drive cross-functional alignment, and manage complexity
  • Highly adaptable, collaborative, and proactive in problem-solving

Working Environment

  • Fast-paced, collaborative, and deadline-driven environment
  • Must demonstrate flexibility, leadership across time zones, and comfort managing ambiguity
  • Expected to operate as a change agent, bringing a continuous improvement mindset to the organization
