MAC Development Director

Role Purpose

Director of MAC Management oversees the entire lifecycle of the Manulife Agency Center (MAC), from recruitment and setup to daily operations and eventual liquidation. This role ensures that MACs are effectively established, operate efficiently, and comply with both internal standards and external regulations. It requires strong coordination across multiple departments and stakeholders to drive performance and maintain operational excellence, including managing the Agency Office Network in collaboration with CRE team.

Responsibilities:

1. MAC Recruitment & Setup Support

  • Collaborate with GTF Admin team to prepare interview documentation, including candidate verification and business plan review.

  • Facilitate the interview process: manage results, issue appointment/ challenge/ rejection letters.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Brand, Agency Marketing, CRE, ABM, RH, PSM+) to execute MAC setup: office building, validation, location verification, renovation planning and organize and support MAC opening ceremonies.

2. MAC/Agency Offices Operations Management

  • Partner with ABM and PSM+ to monitor and enhance MAC/Agency Offices performance using tracking reports and KPI reviews.

  • Oversee MAC liquidation process: Receive and validate liquidation requests; Conduct debt counting and asset recovery and Ensure all MAC-related documentation is properly recorded and filed.

3. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Internal Communication: Collaborate with departments including ASBD, MBA, ABM, Marketing, CRE, Operations, IT.

  • External Communication: Engage with MAC Directors (MACD), Regional Heads (RH), and PSM+ to ensure alignment and execution.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in agency development, operations, or business strategy.

  • Proven leadership and project management skills.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.

  • Experience in insurance or financial services is a plus.
