Job Summary:

The HLD Project Manager will oversee and manage sites and projects specific to the chemistries that they oversee as Subject Matter Experts. The Sr. Project Manager will support sites across all the VUMC enterprise including Adult, Peds, Regional, and Ambulatory sites.

Documentation updating and creation:

  • Revises and updates on-line course work, competencies, etc. based on departmental changes that are in line with new regulations.

  • Help facilitate the creation of new policies, protocols, or procedures as demanded by new rules, guidelines, standards, or make recommendations for needs.

  • Assist with development and implementation of scenario-based learning programs for high level disinfection and instrument reprocessing.

  • Revises and updates on-line course work, competencies, etc. based on departmental changes that are in line with new regulations.

Compliance Validation:

  • Creation or addition practice changes to standard operating procedures or development of guidelines to support work.

  • Assist with HLD reprocessing documentation compliance.  

  • Perform site visits with detailed practice audits to ensure adherence to policy.

  • Develop detailed action plan for sites that fail to meet compliance.

  • Partner with site leaders to facilitate improvement initiatives, to address non-compliant elements.

  • Education, training, and competency to be completed to audit compliance.

  • Auditing of practice changes post implementation to remove sites from action plan.

HLD Oversight and Support:

  • Conducts and incorporates an annual needs assessment for competency of staff. Assesses the competency and evaluates the proficiency of the of staff performing high-level disinfection practices.

  • Facilitate meeting with stakeholders to evaluate impact to operations when implementing practice changes.

  •  Develop goals, risk assessments, & SBARs for special request initiatives.

  • Outline the task associated with the project and oversees and manages status of project items to project completion.

Preferred skills, education, certifications in addition to VUMC’s minimum requirements?

  • Preferred but not required, HLD experience specifically with Medivator, OER, Steris. General project management skills. Experience in strategic planning and implementation based on regulations and standards. Certifications: PMP, SGNA, CPHQ.  

This position is eligible for hybrid work from home option. This position does require some travel to sites (perform onsite assessments, training, risk assessments. etc.) There will be occasions where they can work from home.
