The Engineering Capital Finance Team is looking for a highly motivated Financial Principal Specialist to support the Engineering Capital Team. This role will provide financial planning, analysis, and oversight of the Engineering Capital multi-million-dollar portfolio.

Primary responsibilities will include working with project managers and key stakeholders to identify and accurately forecast Engineering Capital efforts that span all Strategic Business Units & Engineering Directorates. Other responsibilities include process improvements in tracking/consolidating forecasts, financial forecasting, providing variance analysis, validating financial accuracy and trends, preparation of financial reporting, and capitalization of projects at completion. Working as part of a financial analyst team with the Engineering Capital Finance manager, the Engineering Capital Execution team, and the capital project leads, the individual will help implement the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and the individual project plans.

In addition, this position requires wide-ranging financial support and analysis across Engineering, FP&A and the Mission Areas regarding project health & prioritization, ROI analysis, manpower forecasting, process improvement and overall management of business-related tasks. The successful candidate will partner with the Capital Manager, Project Leads, and Strategic Business Unit (SBU) FP&A leads to ensure that the team is aligned, accountable and compliant throughout the Capital process. This role is a P3 Principal FP&A Specialist and will report to the Engineering Capital Finance Manager.

What You Will Do

  • Supporting all aspects of financial analysis and control 

  • Partner with the Capital Manager, Project Leads, Strategic Business Unit Engineering Execution leads to provide the team with insight and solutions to better drive the business and program needs

  • Management of most aspects of program financial support including earned value, compliance, risk and opportunity assessment, LRE/EAC creation and material reporting. 

  • Serve as the primary Finance point of contact for a group of executing of capital projects

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

  • Experience with SAP software: APEX, R3, BW, PRISM

  • Experience in using Microsoft Office Tool suite -Excel, Power Point, Word

  • Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret, and communicate sometimes complex financial scenarios

  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams

  • Strong analytical and presentation skills

  • Strong written and verbal Communication Skills

  • Working knowledge of the EAC process

  • Advanced degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or other applicable field.

  • Ability to work with teams to identify opportunities for and implement process improvements

  • Knowledge of material reporting and analysis

  • Program financial management

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
