Your Opportunity

The Cooma & Region Homelessness Support Service supports people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness across the Cooma-Monaro, Snowy River, and Bombala Shires. The service provides tailored support, advocacy and outreach to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness across the region. We also have a 4x 2-bedroom crisis accommodation unit in Cooma.

We have a great opportunity for a Coordinator to support the day-to-day running of the service.   The Co-ordinator will actively participate in case management and work closely with the Program Manager to ensure the performance of the service and report on service outcomes including developing and maintaining effective working relationships with key stakeholders in the local community.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Respond to referrals.
  • Actively participate in case management
  • Work with staff and clients to create individualised support plans.
  • Act as first point of escalation for clients and Case Managers,
  • Liaise with the relevant Support Services to enable the necessary support and referral of the client if required.
  • Undertake staff supervision as required,
  • Participate in on call roster.
  • Attend and participate in external meetings and case conference reviews. 
  • Complete a range of administrative duties for the efficient running of the service including individualised case management files, internal and external client paperwork and internal and external reports.

Requirements for Success

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or extensive experience in human services
  • Demonstrated ability to provide specialised or complex therapeutic interventions and manage a caseload of complex clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams.A thorough understanding of homelessness issues
  • Demonstrated ability to network and develop effective working relationships at all levels in the community.
  • High level of numeracy, written and verbal communication skills
  • Competent computer literacy
  • Current driver’s license

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
