Description 

STV is seeking a Business Data Analyst for our New York office in our North Transportation Division The candidate will engage both internally and externally to support best practices for design and construction data analytics and integration for the AEC industry. This role offers an opportunity for experienced candidates to work alongside our team, learn, and contribute to meaningful projects. 

Responsibilities: 

As a Business Data Analyst at STV, you will: 

  • Work alongside our team to explore innovative ways to transform client information into valuable insights and services, contributing to stakeholder engagement processes. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and identify opportunities for the application of analytics and data science. 
  • Participate in the preprocessing of structured and non-structured data sources to prepare for analysis. 
  • Engage in exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover patterns, anomalies, and insights that might inform model development. 
  • Create visualizations to present findings and results to stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner. 
  • Stay up to date with the latest technologies, tools, and techniques in the analytics domain. 
  • Document analytical methodologies and efforts for consistent knowledge transfer and reproducibility. 
  • Participate in team meetings and provide insights and feedback that contribute to the iterative learning process. 

Required Experience 

To stand out in this role, you should possess: 

  • Completed a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • A minimum of 1 year industry experience in business or data analytics 
  • Fundamental understanding of statistical analysis, and quantitative analytics. 

  • Experience with SQL writing basic to intermediate queries for data extraction from databases. 
  • Experience with data visualization tools such Power BI, or similar. 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner. 
  • Ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Hands-on experience with handling large datasets and performing exploratory data analysis. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively. 
  • An ability to adapt and exercise flexibility in the ever-changing world of technology 

Compensation Range:

$60,151.50 - $80,202.00
