Summary of Job Duties:

To university students scoring below admissions standards in Reading and math with appropriate remediation instruction to improve academic skills and to advance successfully into degree required coursework.
1. Facilitate CCAP (College and Career Access) classes for students enrolled at UAHT- Texarkana.
2. Demonstrate a commitment to academic achievement of all students.
3. Foster collegiality & teambuilding among staff; participate actively in the decision-making process.
4. Communicate and promote expectations for high-level performance from students; hold students accountable for high performance; Collaborate with the director/staff to recognize excellence and achievement.
5. Establish and maintain an orderly and supportive classroom environment in which learners actively participate and show respect for one another and the instructor.
6. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
7. Use technology to strengthen the teaching and learning process.
8. Conduct and arrange ongoing assessment of students' achievement through formal or informal testing.
9. Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
10. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other required documents.
11. Attend and participate in staff meetings and serve on committees as assigned.

Reports to Adult Education Director

Additional Duties: Provide instruction, career coaching, and assessment for students pursuing WAGE™ (Workforce Alliance for Growth in the Economy) or NCRC® (National Career Readiness Certificate) certifications.
· Proctor NCRC® assessments for Miller County residents referred by local Workforce Services staff.
· Work with local business, industry, community board organizations and other educational institutions to provide employment, training and post-secondary opportunities to WAGE™ students.
· Provide distance learning opportunities for assigned students.
· Participate in activities which are related to school functions and/or educational processes which occur outside the regular school day.
· Other duties assigned by the program director.


Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

· Valid Arkansas teaching certificate.

At least one year of actual classroom experience.
