ROLE SUMMARY

Pfizer I&I is committed to delivering breakthrough medicines and solutions for patients suffering from debilitating immuno-inflammatory conditions. Spanning five indications, XELJANZ pioneered the JAK class as the first and most studied medicine in its class and has reached >500k patients worldwide since its launch.

Reaching over >40K patients and on track to deliver revenues of >$500M in 2025, XELJANZ is a critical contributor to the US Specialty Care business. In mid-2026 XELJANZ is anticipated to face generic competition; successfully navigating the periods prior-and-post this LOE will be critical components in our commitment to our patients and Specialty Care in 2026. This is therefore a unique opportunity for a commercial marketing leader to gain first-hand experience leading in a peri-LOE brand environment and an opportunity to serve as a key member of the Rhu/GI Leadership Team, an agile, innovative, groundbreaking group of colleagues. Additionally, XELJANZ being the first of several PFE LOEs anticipated within the planning period, this is an opportunity to play a leadership role in forging enterprise best practices. 

The Xeljanz Marketing Lead will own all aspects of the brand strategy and execution to optimize brand performance and patient impact and hands-on navigation through LOE and beyond. This position will lead a team of marketers and a broad extended cross-functional team and report into the VP, US Rheumatology & Gastroenterology. Change agility, organization and team leadership through transition, and experience in driving commercial strategy are key criteria.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Refine and execute marketing and commercial peri-LOE strategy and initiatives in relation to HCP and consumer engagement, payer access, channel management, and patient services, in close partnership with key stakeholder partners.
  • Continually assess key metrics and have a deep understanding of performance drivers and GTN drivers; proactively manage GTN and investment mix inline with P&L considerations.
  • Partner with cross functional leads including sales, customer engagement, medical, legal and access to set priorities and identify growth opportunities.
  • Lead innovative strategies to maintain Pfizer leadership presence in rheumatology space, post LOE.
  • Challenge the status quo to optimize performance and impact in a peri-LOE period; identify and leverage internal and external learnings and opportunities in an agile manner.
  • Lead the annual operating plan process, including revenue and expense recommendations
  • Oversee a team of ~6 colleagues, demonstrating a joyful, collaborative and people first mindset & contribute as an active member of the RHU-GI LT.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA Preferred
  • 15+ years relevant experience or significant years of experience at Pfizer, to include significant US marketing experience
  • Prior team leadership with demonstrable experience as a developer of talent
  • Strong business acumen including demonstrated analytical thinking skills and effective decision making
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in order to successfully deliver activities against all revenue, cost, time and quality requirements
  • Ability to bring strategy and analysis to a tactical, executable level; results-oriented.
  • An absolute commitment to adherence to all applicable compliance rules and regulations 
  • Breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $219,800.00 to $366,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 25.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
