Team accountabilities – How we work:
Configuration and Design Data Management is a key enabler for Rolls-Royce to maintain the transparency and integrity of the definition data for all our products.
Configuration of Design Definitions and the administration of the data in the relevant Configuration Management Systems
Technical Release of Design Definitions, Component Definitions, Supplier Definitions and Interface Definition Documents
Creation, linkage and update of Product Structures
Creation of Modification Bulletins/Engineering Changes
Weights Management
Key accountabilities – What we expect from You:
1./ Mass Properties Management
Contribute to the development and accounting of mass properties (weight, center of gravity (CG), & inertia) data for new design definitions.
Estimate, calculate, measure, and verify weight, balance, and inertia of components and assemblies
Generate mass properties reports
2./ Assessment of scenarios of implementing Artificial Intelligence
Investigate the benefit of potential of implementing AI tools in the individual Data Management processes
Test the application of AI tools in the specific case of writing Modification Bulletins which have been identified by the RRD Team as candidate for gaining significant process improvements
3./ Standardisation of Design Definition descriptions
A design definition description wording is required for various steps of the product lifecycle starting from the Problem Description followed by the Design Solution, the Modification Bulletin or the Standardisation Report while each document uses a similar (but not identical) wording. Therefore an investigation is required if the same wording could be used for the various process steps to simplify the process steps and generate significant efficiency increase.
Qualifications:
Fluent language skills, written/spoken: English; German language skills are optional
Good communication / presentation skills
Python programming skills would be advantageous
Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Microsoft PowerBI
Businessmap (formerly Kanbanize) skills would be advantageous
