Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a talented and motivated Electrical Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level) to join our Commercial Modifications Engineering team in Long Beach, California. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the development and maintenance of electrical product details, assembly, and installation designs for a diverse range of commercial aircraft, from the McDonnell Douglas MD series to the state-of-the-art Boeing 777X.

In this dynamic position, you will leverage your expertise to design and implement electrical installation solutions that enhance aircraft capabilities and operational efficiency. You will work on projects that involve retrofitting existing aircraft with advanced connectivity systems, optimizing electrical layouts, and ensuring seamless integration of new technologies. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and reliability of aircraft, enabling our customers to maintain competitive advantages in the aviation market.

In addition to technical responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to engage with customers, understanding their unique operational challenges and providing tailored solutions that enhance their fleet's capabilities. Occasional travel (10%) may be required in support of the program and customer.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate or Mid-Level Wire Design & Install Engineer.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs

  • Analyzes results and performs design reviews. Develops and maintains electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas)

  • Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests)

  • Documents processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities

  • Develops basic statements of work. Participates in technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection

  • Analyzes functional and physical input to assure development of complete

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 2+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • Experience designing / installing aircraft modifications to include fabricating and installing aircraft electrical system wiring, connectors, electrical components or avionics boxes

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Wire design experience (wiring diagrams, schematics, etc)

  • Experience with CADDS

  • Wire routing experience (CATIA V5, ENOVA, etc)

  • Experience with any of the following production systems: DCAC/PDM, CDW, DELMIA, ENOVIA, ERPLN, Velocity, WIRS,

  • Experience with BOGART

  • Experience functioning as a Design Approval Engineer (DAE)

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range (Associate): $78,000 – $139,000

Summary pay range (Mid-Level): $95,000 – $169,000
