About the Website Developer role

Nearform is seeking a Website Developer to build, maintain, and continuously improve our digital presence (www.nearform.com) based on Sanity CMS. This role is focused primarily on hands-on development, performance optimisation, and technical ownership of Nearform’s website infrastructure, while collaborating with design and marketing teams to bring creative and brand visions to life.

The ideal candidate is a strong front-end developer with experience in CMS-driven websites, an eye for detail, and a solid understanding of web architecture, scalability, and user experience best practices. You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end technical lifecycle of the website: implementing new features, maintaining code quality, improving performance, ensuring security, and integrating with analytics and AI-driven tools.

Key responsibilities

Development & maintenance

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Nearform’s website using Sanity CMS, React/Next.js, and related front-end technologies.
  • Build and maintain schemas, templates, and components to ensure flexibility, reusability, and content scalability.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code with a focus on accessibility, performance, and responsiveness.
  • Implement and maintain automated build, deployment, and testing workflows.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, and integration issues.

Architecture & infrastructure

  • Manage the site architecture, content workflows, and integration points between Sanity and front-end systems.
  • Ensure the website remains secure, stable, and compliant with privacy and accessibility standards.
  • Monitor uptime, analytics, and performance, applying updates and optimisations as needed.
  • Implement and manage SEO, GEO (GenAI Engine Optimization), and structured data best practices.

Collaboration & support

  • Work closely with the marketing team to implement new pages and site features.
  • Collaborate on designs to ensure fidelity to brand guidelines and design intent without sacrificing performance or maintainability.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media lead to ensure new page/content promotion and coordinate on metrics
  • Support the marketing team with analytics dashboards, tag management, and A/B testing implementations.

Innovation

  • Research and implement emerging web technologies, including AI-driven content enhancements, GEO (GenAI search engine optimization), chatbots, and personalisation features.

What we are looking for in this person

  • Proven experience developing and maintaining public-facing websites with Sanity CMS, including schema configuration and front-end integration.
  • Strong proficiency with modern front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, React or Next.js).
  • Experience with build tools, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of web security, performance optimisation, SEO, and accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA).
  • Familiarity with content modeling, API integrations, and headless CMS workflows.
  • Experience managing component libraries or design systems in a development context.
  • Comfortable working in remote, cross-functional teams and communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical mindset, able to use data to inform optimisations and decisions.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritise tasks independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to articulate design rationale and technical tradeoffs to different audiences, including business leaders.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, with a track record of continuous improvement and innovation in web design and development.
  • A high bar for quality, matched with the pragmatism and agility to deliver in fast-moving environments

Nice to have:

  • Strong design sensibility, with knowledge of interaction patterns, visual design principles, and usability.
  • Expertise in UX and visual design, with the ability to translate brand identity into clear, engaging digital experiences. This includes fluency with design tools such as Figma or similar.
