Wealth Data Analytics Intern

As a Wealth Data Analytics Intern, you will work alongside your hiring manager, mentor, and team to complete tasks critical for Northwestern Mutual's success. We are here to help you both identify and continue to develop your future career goals and passions.

  • Use data tools to analyze Northwestern Mutual’s retail investment business trends.

  • Apply and integrate statistical, mathematical, and business analysis techniques to discover and identify new insights. Advise on turning new insights into actionable opportunities and outcomes.

  • Report analytical results and recommendations in written, verbal, and presentation form.

  • Summarize analysis into user-friendly deliverables by translating technical, detailed data into business-appropriate communications and recommendations.

  • Develop reports and visualizations to support projects and business initiatives.

Bring Your Best! What this role needs. Minimum qualifications 

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field from an accredited college or university 

  • Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher 

  • Previous work or classroom experience in one or more of the following: Finance, Accounting, Investments, Data Science, or IT Management 

  • Employer immigration sponsorship is not available for this role 

Preferred skills and Proficiencies 

  • Previous Finance, Accounting or Investments internship and/or relevant project experience 

  • Familiar with SQL, R, or Python

  • Experience with Power BI and data analytics tools 

  • Effective oral and written communication skills 

  • Confirmed analytical and problem-solving ability

  • High degree of self-motivation, passion, and a strive to learn 

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities
