For Wholesale Banking Netherlands we are looking for a FCP Operations Lead, covering the client segment portfolio in NL across the WB sectors. The WBNL FCP Operations Lead will report to the WBNL Head of FCP and will work in close collaboration with the other FCP Operations Lead and the Expert Leads within the WBNL FCP Management Team. This role requires the ability to navigate in a complex, international environment as well as profound knowledge of the KYC related regulatory landscape. It combines a client focused attitude combined with analytical skills and a result-oriented approach.

The primary metrics of success for the role are ensuring the portfolio is compliant in line with our risk appetite. This should be achieved by driving an effective and efficient end-to-end CDD process, including influencing decision making around the on-boarding and off-boarding of clients. The execution of global KYC requirements will be combined with the implementation of changes in tooling, policies and procedures as we strive for continuous improvement in the CDD landscape.

Your role and responsibilities

  • Managing the local NL Processing Unit and the execution of various KYC activities (onboarding, offboarding, periodic review and event driven review), in line with KPIs on productivity, customer experience and quality.

  • Oversight on the full WBNL CDD portfolio being executed across multiple processing units, including file allocation and release management, discussion on prioritization within and across sectors.

  • Functional steering of other Processing Units involved in execution of CDD activities, including performance dialogues and continuous monitoring of adherence to ops rigor and performance management.  

  • Monitoring of CDD related customer satisfaction scores, service KPI’s and the utilization of budget/staffing in the local PU. Active contribution in identification and realization of agreed business priorities and KPI’s within WB COO.

  • Functional steering of CDD dedicated Front Office personnel, including alignment on sector priorities and client specifics. This also entails support in training and development of staff, inclusion in the implementation of changes etc.

  • Proactive and timely reporting on progress and potential impediments across the full WB NL portfolio, in both local and global committees, to support decision making.

  • Act as sparring partner, advise and support of the WBNL Head of FCP. Frequent alignment with various internal & external stakeholders.

Knowledge and expertise required

As WBNL FCP Operations Lead you have:

  • 10+ year relevant work experience in the areas of Wholesale Banking, Retail Banking, Risk, Finance or Information technology, with a background of KYC related regulatory responsibilities in the financial services sector.

  • Proven track record within KYC and/or AML, including having held previous managerial positions steering large scale operations.

  • Understanding of key regulations (such as FEC, ESR, FATCA, CRS) and their respective effects on the operational landscape of KYC including the interaction with the 2nd line.

  • Proven profound communication, convincing and advisory skills with the ability to work at all levels in the organization. Fluent in English speaking and in writing

  • Persuasive and a natural leader; being able to ‘get people on board’ and ensure necessary buy-in from stakeholders, both internal and external.

  • A client focused attitude linked to a sound understanding of how to achieve operational excellence. Experience with balancing client, 1st and 2nd line interests.

  • Hands-on team player. Ability to work independently, excellent planner and organizationally sensitive.
