Directs the activities of a team/shift of production workers (semi-skilled and skilled) so that established production targets, including volume, cost and quality measures are safely met. Focuses on weekly activities, and giving daily assignments to a mid-large sized shift/team. Operations are of simple-mid level complexity (e.g. managing more than 1 line/area), normally requiring some more complicated machine set-ups.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • EHS: Ensuring safety procedures and processes followed in plant. Implementation and sustenance of ISO-14001, ISO-45001 standards.
  • Quality: Collaborative with the QC team to maintain highest standards of product quality, safety, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Implementation and sustenance of IATF-16949 standards.
  • Process optimization- Analyze and evaluate our advanced manufacturing process, identifying opportunities for improvement in efficiency, quality, and sustainability. Participate in new product introduction (NPI) activities, providing input on manufacturability and process optimization.
  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze production data, using data-driven insights to optimize processes and ensure seamless production. Responsible for monitoring and controlling of Production KPI’s (First time right, Tank Turnaround time, COPQ%, Material Stock variations)
  • Continual improvement: Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to drive ongoing process enhancements, pushing the boundaries of operational excellence.
  • Communicates Business needs, Scheduled changes, Process problems, Success stories
  • Equipment Maintenance: Work closely with the Maintenance team to develop and execute the preventive maintenance plans, minimizing equipment downtime.
  • Sustainability initiatives: Champion initiatives to reduce waste, energy consumption, and environmental impact with the manufacturing process, contributing to our commitment to Sustainability.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of standard operating procedures, and best practices, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Training: Provide training and support to Operations teams, ensuring the effective implementation and sustainability of new processes.

SCOPE

  • To interrupt/stop the line in case EHS or Quality norms are deviating 
  • Manpower shifting in shifts to meet day to day requirement
  • Revision of documents
  • Emergency controlling in shift
  • LE Closure/Incident Closure
  • Authorize to ask for PPE compliance
  • IATF-16949, ISO14001 & ISO-45001, ISO-50001 Audits

QUALIFICATIONS/ KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE (TECHNICAL/ PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS COMPETENCY)

Qualification:

  • BE/B.Tech in Chemical/ Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university

Experience:

  • 2 to 3 years in Automotive/Chemical Industry

Essential Skills:

  • Skilled in using MS office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Yammer)
  • Knowledge of Basic Quality Tools, Lean Manufacturing, Process Safety
  • Well-versed with SAP Production Planning, Recipe Management software, MES software

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of PFMEA, PPAP, Value Stream Mapping, LIMS
  • Knowledge of IMS and IATF
