POSITION SUMMARY:

Marathon Petroleum Company LP is seeking a Warehouse Manager at its St. Paul Park Minnesota refinery. This critical leadership role is responsible for full ownership of warehouse operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate handling of all materials. In this role you will identify, maintain, and be accountable for all warehouse inventory with special emphasis on critical spare parts essential to refinery operations. The successful candidate will lead a team of at least six warehouse technicians, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Collaboration is a key aspect of this position, ensuring that required materials are distributed on time in support of scheduled work activities while minimizing operational disruptions.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability for warehouse operations. Provide leadership, coaching and supervision for at least six warehouse technicians across two on-site warehouse locations. Establish warehouse strategies and organizational goals, develop/track key performance indicators, and utilize root cause analysis to improve performance. Develop plans to increase the efficiency and optimization of warehousing functions. Engage workforce in pursuing continuous improvement efforts, striving to achieve best in class status relative to materials management.

  • Establish and maintain effective methods of communication with all stakeholders and create sustainable relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers. Take initiative to understand organizational needs and plan/align material management strategies to stakeholder and refinery goals.

  • Identify training opportunities and set strategy for continuous learning for warehouse technicians. Participate in performance management discussions and in the selection process for open positions.

  • Provide oversight in the execution of daily warehouse operations, goods receipts, goods issuance, picklists, cycle counting, storage, logistics, and quality control/assurance. Utilize the most appropriate materials handling and storage methods and equipment.

  • Support warehouse staff in delivering ongoing short-term (daily, weekly) requirements to run the business and strategize for long-term requirements.

  • Collaborate internally for material master creations/updates/deletions, daily Materials Requirement Planning, cycle counting, obsolete/surplus material management, and repairs/refurbishments.
  • Set direction and establish processes to ensure adequate control of material transportation and other activities. This will include manual and computerized systems.

  • Maintain high safety standards. Lead and participate in activities supporting safety performance commitments.

  • Ensure compliance with all required Marathon policies, procedures and guidance and all industry and legislative requirements. This includes compliance by company personnel and contractors.

  • Coordinate with department manager in developing warehouse budget; maintain financial discipline to meet the budget.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Five (5) or more years’ warehousing or other relevant experience.

Preferred QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field.

Two years of leadership experience in an industrial environment.

Awareness of industrial material associated with the petrochemical industry (e.g., pipe, valves, fittings).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
