Warehouse Clerk

POSITION SUMMARY:

Position requires individual with strong knowledge of food and beverage inventory, weights, portions, stocking, rotation, food quality, grades and standards.

The Warehouse Clerk is responsible for all warehouse products from receiving them, storing them, and returning them back to the vendor as needed.

POSITION DUTIES:

  • Account for all products and materials received at and issued from the warehouse.
  • Receive and store all products according to handling procedures established by the Purchasing Manager.
  • Properly rotate and monitor storage of all purchased products according to established handling procedures.
  • Prepare daily and monthly inventories as requested by the Purchasing Manager, including walk-in refrigerators, F&B storage areas and equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness of walk-in refrigerators and storage areas according to established procedures.
  • Safely operate all equipment used at the work location.
  • Secure work area at end of shift when applicable.
  • Maintain personal safety, sanitation, and health code standards.
  • Follow all rules and regulations of Catering by SMG in regards to appearance, attendance and conduct.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor
  • Maintain close communication with Food and Beverage Operations Manager and Food Service Manager regarding timely disbursement and/or receipt of products.
  • Assists Food Service Manager with setup and breakdown of any COD or Hosted Bars and monitors such during event.
  • Prepares products for delivery to locations as indicated on requisition forms
  • Secures area at end of shift, when applicable

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires the ability to problem solve and the ability to interact with all levels of staff, including management.  Hours and weekly schedule vary due to function needs.  Employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods.  Must be able to withstand loud noise and temperature changes in the environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have working knowledge of proper food handling and storage
  • Ability to use, maintain, and train others in the use of basic food service and kitchen equipment.
  • Must have ability to follow directions and effectively perform the work required.
  • Must know how to operate a 10-key calculator.
  • Must be able to lift, push/pull or carry up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to walk, stand and lift for reasonable periods of time.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Basic knowledge of PC applications such as Excel and Word, CBORD System a plus.
  • Must have a pleasant personality and neat appearance.
  • Must be a member in good standing of the local Union or a new member.

Hourly rate: $28.58/hour
