About you and this role

Dow is seeking a highly qualified leader for the role of VP of Logistics Procurement, located in Horgen, Switzerland.

Reporting directly to Dow's Chief Procurement Officer, you will lead a team of professionals and will be a member of the Global Purchasing Leadership Team (PLT) which sets the overall strategic direction for the function. Develop and implement procurement strategies for Dow’s $4.3B+ global spend across all modes of transportation, warehousing and terminals —ensuring reliable supply, competitive cost, and strong supplier relationships. Leads a team of 60 people around the world with 4 direct and 2 indirect reports.

 

Develops and implements strategies to create value for Dow by developing and aligning sourcing strategies, leveraging supplier relationships, analyzing market conditions, and leading teams who negotiate with suppliers and internal partners to optimize sustained value for Dow across their assigned portfolio. Number of vendors, and complexity of suppliers/products is high.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of direct sourcing strategies across all regions, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and long-term business goals.
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers to drive performance, innovation and value creation
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality, service levels and supply continuity
  • Proactively assess and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring business resilience and continuity across global operations
  • Embed environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles into sourcing decisions to support corporate sustainability goals
  • Leverage data analytics and digital tools to enhance procurement visibility, decision-making and process efficiency
  • Lead and develop a high-performing global procurement team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in logistics Procurement with deep content knowledge

  • Proven experience leading a large, global team
  • Proven ability and experience working with, presenting to and influencing senior management
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling and influential leadership capabilities
  • Experience leading successful transformational change
  • Demonstrated capability to think strategically while also possessing the expertise and skill to delve into detailed subject matter as needed
  • Experience implementing digital Procurement tools and managing organization change
