Type: Full-Time

About the Role

AVEVA is building the next generation of AI-powered industrial intelligence solutions—and we need a hands-on technology leader to make it happen. As VP of AI Engineering & Platform Development, you will architect and deliver secure, scalable, and reliable AI services that form the foundation of our global Industrial Intelligence Platform.

This is not a purely strategic role—you will roll up your sleeves, lead execution, and guide engineering teams to build distributed, cloud-native services and APIs that democratize access to AI capabilities across AVEVA’s product portfolio and partner ecosystem.

If you thrive in startup-like environments, love building from the ground up, and have deep experience in AI and cloud platforms, we want to talk to you.

Key Responsibilities:

Platform Services Development

  • Design and deliver Core AI Services (orchestration, SDKs, APIs) that are scalable, reusable, secure, and highly available.
  • Ensure services follow best practices for validation, continuous delivery, and disaster recovery.
  • Build extensible services that support a federated contribution model to accelerate scalability across AVEVA.

Democratization & Adoption

  • Drive adoption and reuse of AI services across AVEVA product teams and partners.
  • Enable self-service access, reference implementations, and integration toolkits to lower barriers to entry.
  • Collaborate with execution leaders and enablement teams to accelerate AI adoption.
  • Embed security and privacy-by-design into all services and APIs.
  • Ensure compliance with global AI regulations and emerging governance frameworks.
  • Implement processes for responsible AI, including model explainability, observability, and auditability

AI & Cloud Expertise

  • Provide strong execution leadership in AI and cloud-native software development.
  • Guide the use of modern AI frameworks, data pipelines, inference engines, and orchestration platforms.
  • Partner with Product Managers and Architects to translate industrial AI use cases into platform capabilities.

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Build and lead a high-performing, cross-functional engineering team with a strong culture of excellence.
  • Foster a builder mindset—encouraging rapid prototyping and continuous improvement with startup agility.
  • Drive collaboration across geographies, time zones, and technical disciplines.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years in software product development, with 8+ years in leadership roles focused on cloud-native platforms or AI services.
  • Hands-on technical leadership experience in building distributed AI/cloud services.
  • Proven experience with distributed, secure, and scalable AI/cloud services
  • Hands-on expertise in AI/ML technologies and API lifecycle management.
  • Startup or pre-IPO experience strongly preferred.

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with AI standards (Model Context Protocol, Agent2Agent).
  • Understanding of global AI regulations (EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF) and responsible AI principles.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
