Summary
Coordinates daily operations of the Volunteer Services Department. Assign volunteers and develop position assignments to ensure adequate response for requests of volunteer resources. Develops relationships throughout LVHN facilities to improve the patient and colleague experience. Attract, develop, and retain volunteer talent to sustain programs. Support colleague engagement initiatives.

Job Duties
  • Approves requests for special projects and volunteer services from various departments and coordinates completion of requests.
  • Assists director in reviewing department's policies and procedures annually in conjunction with regulatory guidelines.
  • Conducts interviews with prospective volunteers to determine if they meet basic requirements and are appropriate for further consideration.
  • Ensures adequate screening per department policy prior to volunteer placement.
  • Provides answers to questions, helps with problems or concerns, and assists with requests for volunteer services.
  • Plans volunteer events related to recognition, invites, and/or special events.
  • Provides adequate supervision to hospital volunteers.
  • Provides proper placement by matching volunteer's interests, skills, and schedules with the department's needs.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree
  • 3 years Volunteer, health care, or human services management.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • CAVS - Certified Administrator of Volunteer Services - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
