Course: Voice and Movement for the Stage

This is an introductory course for vocal production and body manipulation. Students learn techniques for the healthy production, manipulation, and utilization of sound and movement. The student’s voice and body are developed through conditioning exercises. Vocal production and movement are linked to a character's intention and given circumstances in order to facilitate a compelling, understandable performance.

  • Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions while incorporating innovative teaching strategies.
  • Engage students in cutting-edge technologies and industry trends.
  • Assess student performance and mentor classroom success to prepare them for their chosen career path.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

What You Will Bring:

  • Minimum: Master of Fine Arts or Masters in Theatre or other terminal degree in Theatre with Acting/Directing coursework AND
    • 2 years University instruction or approval by the Dean.
