An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Vice President, Performance Rewards and Benefits to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of total rewards across the East Asia cluster, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Korea. This position is at the heart of implementing global strategies locally, ensuring that performance, rewards, and benefits programmes are executed with precision, fairness, and compliance. As the key interface between global frameworks and local business needs, you will be instrumental in guiding policy adaptation, supporting transformation initiatives, and representing the region’s voice in global forums. What you'll do:

As Vice President, Performance Rewards and Benefits you will be entrusted with delivering the bank’s global total rewards strategy at a regional level. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating with stakeholders from various departments to ensure seamless implementation of performance management cycles as well as reward programmes tailored for Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Korea. You will act as a subject matter expert providing guidance on complex proposals such as benefit enhancements or salary benchmarking exercises. Your analytical skills will be put to use preparing detailed reports for senior management while your project management abilities will see you leading or supporting key reward initiatives. By fostering strong relationships both internally among HR teams and externally within industry networks you will help drive a culture that supports talent attraction and retention. Success in this role requires balancing business needs with regulatory compliance while always prioritizing an excellent employee experience.

  • Implement global and regional performance, rewards, and benefits (PRB) strategies within Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Korea by aligning them with overarching HR objectives.
  • Adapt international frameworks to suit local market practices while maintaining consistency with regulatory requirements and fairness for all employees.
  • Provide expert insights on market trends, benchmarking data, and regulatory developments to inform ongoing refinement of policies and guidelines.
  • Support the Global Personal Expense Management framework by ensuring accurate application of expense policies across the cluster.
  • Develop strong stakeholder relationships both internally with colleagues across regions and externally with industry partners to foster best practice sharing.
  • Serve as the primary PRB advisor to branch management and HR teams on all aspects of compensation, benefits, performance cycles, and policy interpretation.
  • Partner closely with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and business leaders to deliver annual performance reviews and reward cycles with effective communication throughout.
  • Represent the East Asia cluster in regional or global PRB forums to ensure local perspectives are considered in strategic decision-making processes.
  • Coach HR teams and managers on PRB policies while building awareness of global/regional frameworks for consistent application across locations.
  • Ensure all PRB programmes comply with local labour laws, regulatory requirements, risk management standards, internal controls, and governance frameworks.

What you bring:

To excel as Vice President, Performance Rewards and Benefits you will bring extensive experience managing compensation programmes within large organisations—ideally spanning multiple geographies such as Hong Kong, Taiwan or Korea. Your background should include hands-on involvement in designing or executing annual performance review cycles alongside deep familiarity with local labour laws governing pay structures. You will have demonstrated success influencing senior leaders through clear communication backed by robust data analysis using tools like Excel or PowerPoint. Your ability to coach others ensures consistent application of policies while your project management skills enable timely delivery of complex initiatives. A collaborative mindset is essential; you must enjoy working closely with colleagues from diverse backgrounds while contributing positively towards shared goals. Experience navigating matrixed environments is highly valued as is your commitment to upholding high standards of governance throughout all reward-related activities.

  • Degree qualified with a comprehensive understanding of compensation and benefits principles relevant to East Asia markets.
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Excel including VBA scripting as well as advanced PowerPoint skills for data analysis and presentation purposes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships across multiple departments or regions through effective communication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills enabling you to influence senior stakeholders positively during committee meetings or strategic discussions.
  • Proven project management capabilities allowing you to lead cross-functional teams through intricate reward-related projects successfully.
  • Experience coaching or mentoring HR professionals on policy interpretation or process improvements within a matrixed organisation structure.
  • In-depth knowledge of regional pay structures along with up-to-date awareness of benefits regulations affecting Hong Kong, Taiwan or Korea.
  • A collaborative approach that makes you an effective team player able to thrive in complex organisational environments requiring interdependence.
  • At least 8-10 years’ relevant experience in compensation & benefits roles ideally within financial services or multinational corporations.
