Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Vice President of Facilities and Real Estate for our system's executive team who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

The Vice President, Facilities is a senior executive responsible for leading the strategic planning, development, and management of all healthcare facilities, real estate, and medical equipment assets. This role ensures that the organization’s physical infrastructure supports high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and long-term growth. The VP serves as a key advisor to executive leadership on capital investments, sustainability, and facility innovation across Adventist Healthcare. The role combines high-level strategic planning with detailed operational management to ensure all facilities, properties, and medical equipment assets align with and support the company's business goals.

As a Vice President of Facilities and Real Estate you will:

Strategic Facilities Planning
• Develop and implement long-range facilities master plans aligned with clinical, operational, and financial goals.
• Oversee site selection, acquisition, leasing, and disposition of healthcare properties
• Lead strategic capital planning and prioritization of facility and medical equipment investments
• Oversee relationships with third-party vendors and contractors, including negotiating contracts and managing performance.

Healthcare Facility Operations
• Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations of all healthcare facilities.
• Oversee maintenance standards and supports operations and emergency preparedness.
• Advise on infection control, life safety, and Joint Commission standards across all sites.
• Oversee relationships with third-party vendors and contractors, including negotiating contracts and managing performance.

Construction & Project Management
• Oversee major construction, renovation, and expansion projects from concept to completion.
• Manage budgets, timelines, contractors, and stakeholder engagement.
• Ensure projects meet healthcare-specific design, accessibility, and sustainability standards.

Financial & Regulatory Oversight
• Develop and manage multi-million-dollar budgets for facilities and real estate operations.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including CMS and OSHA.
• Optimize cost-efficiency through strategic sourcing, energy management, and vendor partnerships.
• Plan, develop, and monitor large-scale project budgets, operational budgets, and financial feasibility studies, reporting on cost and performance to executive leadership.
• Manage and maintain the Facility and Medical Equipment Index at the system level by incorporating a dynamic facility and medical equipment management program.

Leadership & Collaboration
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of facilities, real estate, engineering, and project management professionals.
• Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and IT leaders to align infrastructure with patient care delivery.
• Foster a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Direct oversight of Biomedical and Clinical Engineering departments for all system entities to support procurement, capital allocation, and the dynamic management of the system medical equipment portfolio.

Qualifications include:
• A Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Real Estate, Finance, or a related field is often required, though equivalent experience may be accepted.
• 5-8 Years of supervisory or management experience required
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare facilities and real estate required
• Ability to communicate with senior level executives as well as front line staff and vendors
• Ability to work in a multi-facility system. Balance tactical level subject matter expertise on building systems with strategic thinking and forward planning for new and innovative approaches to Facilities Management.
• Ability to create reports, comfort level with FSI/CMS and working knowledge of CMMS and building automation systems (Tridium, Niagara, Building Logix)
Proven success in managing complex portfolios and large-scale capital projects.
• Financial and budget development and performance monitoring. Understands contracting and value analysis, variance reporting when working with local business unit entity facilities managements leaders.
• Strong strategic planning, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with smart hospital technologies and digital infrastructure.
• Ability to coach and build close alliances between system-level Facilities and Real Estate division and local business unit entities (acute care hospitals and non-acute clinical sites).

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday

Pay Range:

$226,495.30 - $339,742.95

If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.

Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), this position is classified as:

United States of America (Exempt)
