Underwriter Associate
Role Responsibilities:
As an Associate Underwriter, you will be a key member of the Underwriting team by supporting the underwriting activities for multiple products across a number of verticals.
As a key member of the Insurance team, you will play an integral role in our underwriting process. You will be responsible for underwriting accounts within underwriting guidelines and underwriting strategy, evaluating risk, and structuring solutions appropriate for our insureds. You will also provide advice and suggestions on a number of underwriting-related issues.
Specific Activities and Responsibilities May Include:
Review and analyze submissions to determine appropriate pricing and terms based on underwriting guidelines and underwriting authority
Underwrite individual accounts in accordance with underwriting philosophy, guidelines, authority, and service level standards
Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines and underwriting authority
Support other underwriting efforts and share insights and knowledge with the broader Corix underwriting team, particularly with respect to the opportunity to automate underwriting decisions
Collaborate with key distribution partners to identify ways to expand profitable growth
About You:
1+ years’ experience in commercial P&C Underwriting with direct underwriting experience and technical understanding of management liability, professional liability, or general liability and property
Experience working in a collaborative environment with the ability to improve underwriting guidelines that integrate the customer’s perspective, user experience concepts, auto decision orientation, and our distribution strategy
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment with the ability to prioritize high impact work
Bachelor’s Degree
Nice to Have:
Bachelor’s Degree (in Business, Insurance & Risk Management or a related field a plus)
A background in insurance or other regulated categories
Multi line experience

Salary Range: $55-$70k
The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
**Please note that this position is hybrid and requires two (2) days in our office weekly**
