  • Collaborate with geotechnical engineers, I&M teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and risk mitigation during TBM operations.

  • Review TBM parameters (e.g., face pressure, grout injection pressure, TBM software applications) to identify and mitigate risks during machine advancement.

  • Supervise TBM activities, including annular gap grouting, ring installation, greasing, and maintenance.

  • Ensure safe TBM operations, particularly under main roads, near adjacent buildings, and in critical zones.

  • Review shop drawings, method statements, and design proposals related to tunnel works, and prepare responses for the Resident Engineer's review.

  • Provide technical guidance to construction teams to ensure compliance with rail project quality standards and safety objectives.

  • Coordinate with design engineers to resolve structural issues encountered during tunnel construction.

  • Maintain accurate daily diaries and reports prepared by inspectors.

  • Work closely with contractors to manage scheduling, resource allocation, and progress tracking for tunnel construction.

  • Convene and lead meetings with contractors, subcontractors, and service authorities to address construction-related issues.

  • Ensure adherence to rail project safety goals and oversee the implementation of safety procedures specific to tunneling works.

  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for the Resident Engineer.

  • Verify and measure completed work, record progress, and assist in comparing progress against the project schedule.

  • Ensure the correctness and completeness of as-built drawings and oversee the handover of tunnel works to service authorities.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience supervising tunnel construction, particularly in metro rail large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • Strong expertise in Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) operations and tunneling works.

  • In-depth understanding of risks associated with TBM operations, including monitoring parameters such as face pressure, grout injection pressure, and TBM software applications.

  • Familiarity with TBM activities such as annular gap grouting, ring installation, greasing, and maintenance.

  • Knowledge of materials used in tunnel construction, such as concrete, steel, and shotcrete.

  • Proficiency in reviewing material submissions, analyzing technical reports, and ensuring compliance with project specifications.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Familiarity with UAE/GCC regulations related to tunnel construction and infrastructure projects.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with technical writing capabilities.

  • Proficiency in engineering and construction-related software tools.
