This is a front office client facing role offering an exciting mix of Sales and Relationship Management
Supplier Engagement Management is the commercialization of Citi’s Payable Finance (“PF”) Programs. As the name implies, the primary role of the Supplier Engagement Manger (“SEM”) is to engage Treasury/Finance/Sales Leads of Suppliers (referred to us by PF Program Anchors (“Buyers”) to market Citi’s PF Solutions with the objective of driving Program Onboarding and, subsequently, the Discounting take-up rate.
The role also requires the SEM to build and maintain key Supplier relationships and participate in strategic calls with Procurement Leads from the Buyers to provide Supplier Engagement updates and drive Supplier referrals.
In order to be successful, the candidate must be able collaborate and liaise with cross-functional partners across Citibank for successful delivery and commercialisation of PF Programs such as Coverage and Sales, Product, Legal & Compliance, Operations, Risk, Tax, etc
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate, coordinate and execute agreed engagement strategy with a given portfolio of Buyer PF Programs across Citibank’s suite of Payables Finance Solutions
- Manage end to end Buyer PF Program Commercialisation and Supplier Engagement strategy with the objective of achieving the highest possible take up rates and revenue results
- Lead engagement discussions with Strategic/Large/Medium suppliers to market Buyer PF Programs
- Ensure end-to-end process is clear to Supplier and all information is relayed in a timely manner. Handhold suppliers until they are comfortable with the PF Program
- Negotiate legal agreements and pricing with key strategic suppliers
- Build and own relationships with large and strategic Suppliers, manage, follow up and close escalations in a timely manner
- Monitor Supplier discounting activity of given portfolio of Buyer PF Programs and drive appropriate actions (especially for large and strategic Suppliers) to ensure maximum discounting take up rates and asset/revenue realization
- Coordinate overall SEM strategy across Vietnam, harness data, encourage best practices and encourage the utilization of existing digital tools to streamline are utilized
- Lead Buyer Procurement trainings and support Buyer relationship for your portfolio of Buyer PF Programs wherever required in terms of any intermediation between Suppliers and Buyer
- Manage day to day Buyer PF Program communications and updates for key Suppliers and overall Supplier Engagement statuses
- Management and tracking of Supplier Engagement activity on our internal systems and dashboard
- Identify and execute on cross sell opportunities (e.g. FX, PO, Deep Tier, CCB – where available) where possible and explore industry trends to deliver results
Qualifications
- Previous experience in Sales, Product or Coverage with good knowledge of Corporate Banking practices in the Trade Finance and Working Capital space
- Exposure to and understanding of business analytics - Sales, Data and System analysis
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and inter-personal skills.
- Persuasive and articulate personality
- Client-focused attitude with attention to detail with strong sense of quality in work
- Demonstrated ability to self-direct work efforts, meet deadlines, take initiative, and produce consistent high-quality work
- Willingness to get involved, be a direct contributor and ability to multi-task
- Native Vietnamese speaker and fluency/proficiency in English is required
