Job Description Summary

The Treasury & Cash Management (TCM) Manager role is accountable for all TCM activities within their assigned cluster, ensuring the delivery of effective, efficient, and high-quality services within a robust control environment. This role is responsible for developing, leading, and motivating a team of professionals who oversee Payments, Cash Management, and Banking activities, providing both technical and non-technical support for TCM-related processes and system solutions.

In this capacity, the TCM Manager partners closely with FRA Heads, Country/Cluster CFOs, and Novartis Treasury, while championing digital adoption in Lean Digital Core (SAP S/4HANA) and Finance Data Quality to enable timely and reliable finance decisions.

The TCM Manager ensures that systems, documentation, compliance, and reporting are firmly in place, and proactively initiates continuous improvement projects to deliver highly effective and efficient end-to-end TCM processes. This role drives productivity improvements and achieves operational excellence against established targets and benchmarks, while also building and developing talent and fostering a collaborative mindset across the organization.


 

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a member of the TCM NOCC leadership team, consistently role modeling inclusive, coaching-led leadership and a commitment to continuous improvement.

• Establish clear Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) aligned with Finance priorities and drive a structured Rhythm of Business—Weekly business reviews for operational tracking and issue resolution, monthly reviews for tactical performance and KPI assessment, and quarterly reviews for strategic alignment, CFO reporting, forecasting, and planning, maintaining a comprehensive decision log and risk register.

Ensure adherence to standard processes within Treasury & Cash Management (TCM) by collaborating closely with the Head of TCM NOCC and the Global Process Owner (GPO) team. Constructively challenge, align, and document exceptions as needed to maintain process integrity.

Ensure full compliance with the Novartis Accounting Manual (NAM) and Novartis Financial Controls Manual (NFCM), increasing automated control evidence through S/4 and banking platforms. Strive for 100% control execution with zero overdue actions.

Support the enablement of Lean Digital Core (S/4HANA) by integrating TCM integrates enhancements such as Intraday cash Forecast, automated reconciliations, quality checks analysis and control documentation automation

Champion productivity and continuous process improvement by implementing process enhancements and best practices that enable efficient and effective execution of Payments, Cash Management, and Banking activities within the NOCC. Proactively manage exceptions and inquiries; drive right-first-time execution to minimize errors. Perform regular result (e.g. forecast accuracy) and cost analysis (e.g. Bank fees) to optimize and improve transparency of operations and visibility of liquidity.

Essential Requirements:

University degree in Business Administration/Economics/Finance (required); Chartered Accountant / MBA (preferred)

Lean/Six Sigma certification (preferred)

6–8+ years of experience in Finance operations, with hands-on expertise in Treasury and Cash Management, as well as team leadership within a multinational matrix environment.

• Demonstrated capability to embed NAM/NFCM controls, enhance automated control evidence, and maintain audit-ready operations.

• Strong stakeholder skills across Finance leadership, Corporate Treasury, and external partners; high cultural adaptability.
