Transportation Department Supervisor

OCONUS-Bahamas Full time

Amentum is seeking a Transportation Department Supervisor to join our team on Andros Island, Bahamas to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) mission. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Scheduling clerk for work scheduling and communications with external departments

  • Provide direct supervision for all aspects of daily department operations

  • Schedule and maintain PM Rotation in MAXIMO

  • Coordinate with Parts Technician to prepare All shipping documents

  • Submit Haz-Mat documentation for all New and Renewal AUL requests

  • Prepare All MDR documentation and coordinate with property control for disposal

  • Prepare and schedule all SRO’s for CM work needed additional to PM work

  • Review SRO’s for accuracy and update Databases accordingly

  • Prepare and document Metrix monthly reports for vehicles and GSE equipment

  • Identify, along with Transportation Manager, any shop equipment needs requiring repair/replacement and present info for ordering to Parts Acquisition and Ordering Tech

    repare quotes and documentation required for replacement shop equipment

  • Oversee parts and materials ordering and ensure proper inventory for shop requirements

  • Maintain and update Master Vehicle Inventory lists

  • Maintain and update Master Maintenance cost database

  • Schedule offsite repair requirements and coordinate with Parts Technician to develop PR

  • Schedule and coordinate any technician needs from outside sources

  • Schedule and coordinate with Heavy Lift Supervisor any heavy lift requests

  • Assist maintenance supervisor with repairs/diagnostics as needed (Backup as needed)

  • Assist Department Manager act as Deputy Department Manager as needed

  • Be involved with Inspections (NAVOSH, HAZ-Waste, Property Audits) along with Licensing Official and Motor Pool Supervisor

  • GSA Fleet Liaison (Must Maintain GSA Fleet Access)

  • Assist in disciplinary processes, mechanic duties and provide guidance and training to mechanics as needed.

  • This position reports directly to the Transportation Manager and provides direct supervision to approx. 20 employees overseeing all departmental affairs with the exception of the licensing official.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Strong mechanical background with 15 years of experience in maintenance oversight.

  • Minimum 15 years of experience with hydraulic, air and electrical systems of vehicles and equipment. 

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • ASE, military or manufacturer specific training and certification required.

  • MAXIMO experience and office computer programs such as Excel and Word is required.

  • Works well in and develops team-oriented environment.

  • Excellent customer service skills required.

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Able to push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds. Able to frequently bend, stoop and crouch.

  • Must be able to reside in remote work location with limited medical facilities.

  • Valid driver’s license and passport will be required.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
